Our Company
West Workshop is an award-winning architecture and interior design studio founded in 2017 by architect Kurt West with offices in Raleigh and Washington, DC
.
We operate across multiple scales—from buildings and interiors to custom furniture and public artworks—unifying contemporary design, material research, and technical execution.
Our Services
We provide full-service design for commercial and residential clients, guiding each project from early concept through finish selections and construction. Our collaborative approach brings designers, consultants, contractors, and fabricators into a shared process, ensuring that design intent and practical execution stay aligned.
Commercial Projects
Our commercial work is informed by the operational needs and business goals of each client. We design environments that support brand identity, workflows, and user experience while
managing budgets, schedules, and construction complexity.
Residential Projects
In residential projects—from custom homes to renovations and additions—we work closely with homeowners and developers to create contemporary spaces defined by thoughtful detailing, efficient planning, and modern living. Our team embraces modular systems and energy-efficient strategies to deliver homes that are both innovative and highly livable.
Public Art
Public art commissions allow us to explore new fabrication techniques, construction materials,
and contextual responses. These projects serve as laboratories for architectural
experimentation and expand our dialogue with the public realm. You can see that work on our website as well as here.
